Irene A Freire Clark

Irene A. Freire Williams, Pitts, Clark

To everything there is a season, a time for every matter under heaven; a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to weep, and a time to laugh, a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to keep, and a time to cast away. -Ecclesiastes

We gather at 10:00 am Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Family Service Funeral Chapel with Seibel Stone officiating, in the memory of my mother, Irene Clark, so that together we may acknowledge and share both our joy in the gift that her life was to us, and the pain that her passing brings. In sharing the joy and the pain together, may we lessen the pain and remember more clearly the joy. Following the funeral services, Irene will be laid to rest at Kermit Cemetery.

Irene was 83 when she passed away at home unexpectedly shortly after spending Christmas Day with her family in Kermit, Texas. 12/27/18

It’s hard to say goodbye. We wish that we had more time and perhaps that during the time we had we had spent more of it together. While we know that she is at peace and that her struggles are at an end, there is pain and sadness. But even though she is gone, she has left the legacy of her love and perseverance. The ways she touched our lives will remain, and I ask you to keep those memories alive by sharing them with me and with one another.

Mother should be remembered for her beautiful spirit filled music and angelic voice; many have fond memories of her ministry at The House of Prayer in Wink, TX.  One of the most important things in Mom’s life was praising and worshiping the Lord. She enjoyed her church family, playing the piano, and writing gospel music about our merciful Lord and Savior. I believe her hope was that music would bring Christ into the lives of others - helping, but for a moment, to bring hope and peace to troubled souls.

Irene is survived by her daughter and family: Toni Salinas and her husband Joseph of Kermit, and grandchildren Christian Salinas of Kermit, Texas and Ryan Salinas of Kermit, Texas, Scott Clements  and wife Jennette of Laredo, Texas, Sean Clements of Austin, Texas; great-grand children: Brytton Clements of Laredo, Texas and Leah Avery Salinas of Kermit, Texas;  nieces: Karen Molero Dragon and Tina Molero Tinney Louisian; sons and family Vonnie R. Williams Jr. and his wife Maria “Lulu” Williams of Pinedale, North Dakota, Danny Williams of Pinedale,  North Dakota, and Harvey D. Williams and his wife Lynette of Arlington, Texas; and her grandchildren: Jennifer Lynn Williams, Samantha Lynn.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Irene Freire; grandmother:  Irene Campo;  sisters: Loretta Molero, Henrietta Freier Montelongo, Silvia Freire White ; and daughter:  Char’les Pitts and Charles Wayne Pitts.

Arrangements are entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor.
