HB Bush 
Harold "H.B." Bailey Bush

Harold Bush, age 67, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2016 in Odessa, TX.  He was born in Kermit, TX on May 8, 1949, to Clement and Golden (Davis) Bush. In March of 1972, he married the love of his life Pamela (Hays) Bush, and they spent 44 glorious years together. 

H.B., as he was known to his friends and family, was diehard Dallas Cowboys, L.A. Lakers, and N.Y. Yankees fan. He was devoted to his family, especially his wife and grandson. H.B. loved classic rock and his favorite band was Moody Blues. He had a great love for his nieces and nephews; they all called him "Uncle Beese". He loved to get into political debates with his son.  He loved to try new things and was known as a "strange food enthusiast" to his family.    

He is survived by his wife:  Pamela Bush of Odessa, TX.; son: Kacey Bush of Odessa, TX.; two sisters: Carmen Arnold and husband James of Kermit, TX., and Cherry Land and husband Leonard of Levelland, TX.; sister-in-law: Lynette Bush of Plano, TX.; one grandchild: Liam Bailey Bush.                 

Preceding him in death was his parents: Clement and Golden (Davis) Bush; sister: Betty Hooten; and brother: Jerry Bush. 

Memorial Services will be 3:00 pm, Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the 1st Baptist Church in Kermit, TX with Brother Ed Simmons officiating. 

 In lieu of flowers the donations may be made to:  Children's Miracle Network, 205 West 700 South Salt Lake City, Utah 84101 or The Shiners Hospital for Children 2900 Rocky Point Dr. Tampa, FL 33607.

Wilfredo “Wili” Lujan
Wilfredo “Wili” Lujan
Wilfredo “Wili” Lujan, age 34, of Kermit, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2016 in Kermit, TX. He was born September 12, 1982 in Kermit to Efren and Guadalupe (Prieto) Lujan. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Wilfredo, known to all friends and family as “Wili”, loved cars. He loved all aspects of cars: racing, fixing, and building. He was talented with his hands, enjoyed welding and was a very hard worker. Wili enjoyed being around friends and family most of all.

He is survived by his parents: Efren and Guadalupe Lujan of Kermit, TX; brother: Efren Lujan Jr. of Kermit TX; sister: Mayra Lujan of Kermit, TX; niece: Crystal Lujan; and nephews: Efren Lujan III, Gabriel Lujan, and Evan Lujan.

A Rosary will be held starting at 8:00 pm, Friday, October 28, 2016 at Family Services Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 29, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kermit, with Father Mark Salas officiating.  Interment will follow at Kermit Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Paul White, Ricardo Rodriguez, Nicholas Gonzales, Jose Escarcega, Lucas Rodriguez, Cody Short, and David Morales. Honorary Pallbearer will be: Evan Lujan, Efren Lujan III, and Gabriel Lujan.

Merced Jimenez
Merced Gomez Jimenez

Merced Jimenez, age 89, of Kermit, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2016 in Kermit. He was born July 26, 192 in Ft. Stockton to Luis and Victoria (Salcido) Jimenez.  Merced married Simona Chavarria on December 26, 1946 and they celebrated 64 years together before being separated by her death in 2011.

Merced loved to play golf. He was a strong member of the church, and a spiritual mentor to hundreds of men. Merced was very active in the community. He was self-employed in Kermit, and was the owner and operator of Jimenez Plumbing for 56 years. Merced was devoted to his family, and was known to them as “Papa”.    

He is survived by two sons: Wally Jimenez of Kermit and Ruben Jimenez and wife Diane of San Antonio, TX; brother: Manuel Jimenez of Imperial, TX; sister: Inez Jimenez of Santa Fe, NM; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife: Simona Jimenez; and parents: Luis and Victoria Jimenez.

Rosary and Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Kermit, TX, with Father Mark Salas officiating. Interment will follow at Kermit Cemetery.   Honorary Pallbearers will be: Wally Jimenez, Ruben Jimenez, Ruben Jimenez Jr., Austin Jimenez, Lionel Carrasco, and W.L. Medcalf.

Laura Sue Cravens
Laura "Sue" Cravens
Laura Sue (Long) Cravens, age 65, of Kermit, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2016. She was born on January 14, 1951 in Levelland, TX to Darwin D. and Lina Ruth (Cleveland) Long.

"Sue" as she was known to her many friends and family, was a member of the Belvue Baptist Church. She had a love of music and was a huge fan of Conway Twitty and Elvis Presley. Sue was also a big fan of “The Young and the Restless”. She enjoyed playing games on the computer as well as in real life. Often Sue could be found working outside and tending to her yard. She was an excellent cook and her cooking will be missed.

Sue is survived by her mother: Lina Markley of Kermit, TX; four sons: Billy Jack Cravens of Amarillo, TX; Timmy Cravens and wife Minnie of Tyler, TX; Ricky Cravens of Monahans, TX and Ernie Long of Kermit, TX; one daughter: Shelby Cravens of Kermit, TX; one brother: Ernest Long of Monument. NM; one sister: Brenda Carrigan and husband Larry of Carlsbad, NM; twelve grandchildren and one great- grandchild.

Preceding Laura in death were her husband: Bill Owen Cravens; her father: Darwin Long; two brothers: Dennis and Donal Long and one sister: Sandra Moorefield.

A graveside memorial service will be held 1:00 pm, Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at Kermit Cemetery officiated by Mitchell Sims.   Arrangements are entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor.

Federico Valles Mendoza
Federico Valles Mendoza, age 67, of Kermit, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2016 in Odessa, TX. He was born March 2, 1949 in Falomir, MX to Feliciano and Maria (Valles) Mendoza. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Federico was a very humble, hard working and loving husband. He was also a dedicated and devoted father who loved to spoil his children. Everyone in the family called him “Grandpa”. He loved telling jokes and making his family laugh. He also enjoyed playing the guitar and singing.

He is survived by his wife: Rosario Villarreal Chavira of Kermit, TX; three sons: Michael Anthony Longoria and wife April of Greeley, Co; Luis Miguel Ortiz and wife Monica of Chihuahua, MX and David Feliciano Mendoza and wife Adele of Kermit, TX; five daughters: Rosa Ramos and husband Aurelio of Kermit, TX; Adriana Berenice Ortiz of Chihuahua, MX; Yolanda Munoz of Wink, TX; Laurine Mendoza of Odessa, TX and Christina Mendoza and husband Abraham Uriquidi of Kermit, TX; three brothers: Mario Mendoza and wife Carmen of Phoenix, AZ; Jesus Mendoza and wife Alicia of Phoenix, AZ and Lorenzo Mendoza and wife Maria of Blythe, CA; two sisters: Paula Mendoza and husband Aaron of Aldama MX and Rosa Chavira and husband Silviano of Phoenix, AZ; seventeen grandchildren: Michael, Richard, David, Michelle, Alex, Angel, Michael, Aurelio, Diego, Santiago, Promese, Joseph, Kristian, Uramiah, Nathan, Lazarus Federico, Luke Ethyn; and one great-grandchild: Serenity.

He is preceded in death by two sons: Angel Ray Longoria and Lorenzo Juan Mendoza; one brother: Victoriano Mendoza and his parents Feliciano and Maria Mendoza.

A Rosary will be held starting at 7:00 pm, Friday, November 11, 2016 at Family Services Funeral Chapel. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Family Services Funeral Parlor in Kermit, TX, with Deacon Paul Hinojos officiating. Pallbearers will include: Aurelio Ramos, David Mendoza, Joseph Huntley, Aurelio R. Ramos, Diego Ramos and Michael Longoria. Honorary Pallbearers will be all his Special grandchildren. Michael Norton

Michael "Mike" Patrick Norton

Michael P. Norton, age 62, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2016 in Odessa, TX.  He was born in Notrees, TX on June 20, 1954 to Kenneth and Netta (Jolly) Norton.  On August 23, 1972 he married the love of his life Jackie White, and they spent 44 glorious years together.

"Mike" or "Uncle Mike" as he was known to his friends and family was diehard Harley Davidson enthusiast. He love to customize his motorcycle and go on long rides.  He spent much time outdoors either hunting, fishing or hunting for arrowheads.  Mike also enjoyed spelunking.

He is survived by his wife:  Jackie Norton of Kermit, TX; sons: Jason Norton and wife Jennifer of Denison, TX; and J.J. Norton and wife Amanda of Kermit, TX;  two brothers:  Vernon Norton and wife Rosemary of Kermit and John Norton and wife Dot of Kermit, TX;  sister:  Mary Walker of Odessa; brother-in-law: Kerry Jones and wife Keri of Kermit; nephew: Cody Jones of Kermit, TX; 7 grandchildren:  Brittany, Monica, Brantley, Natalea, Jayden, Jorden, and Eliana; and great-grandchild:  Brooklyn.                

Preceding him in death was his parents: Kenneth and Netta Norton; and sister: Wendy.

Memorial Services will be 3:00 pm, Sunday, November 13, 2016 at the Family Services Funeral Chapel in Kermit with Brother Eddie Whitefield officiating.  Honorary Pallbearers will include:  Jason Norton, J.J. Martha Bell Smith
Martha Bell Smith

Martha Bell Smith, age 81, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2016 in Kermit, TX.  She was born in George County, MS on May 21, 1935, to Homer and Ludie (Cochran) Creel.  She was a member of the Church of God in Prophecy.

Martha was very active in prayer ministry. She was an outgoing person who loved making new friends. She had a special love for being outside taking care of her yard, flowers and dogs.

She is survived by her three sons: Rodger Smith and wife Martha Schafer of Odessa, TX, David Smith of Wink, TX and Bobby Smith and wife Shelly of Wink, TX; two daughters: Dimple Kennedy of Wink, TX and Charlotte Fletcher of Wink, TX; three sisters: Louise Mizell of Lucedale, MS, Deaner Boulineau of Leakesville, MS and Doris Rogers of Lucedale, MS; eleven grandchildren and numerous great-grand children.                

Preceding her in death were her husband: Luther Smith, daughter: Jeanette Beasley; two grandchildren and her parents: Homer and Ludie Creel.

Funeral services were privately held.

Dolores Montoya
Dolores Salazar Montoya
Dolores Salazar Montoya, age 78, of Kermit, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016 in Kermit, TX. He was born April 8, 1938 in Mulato, MX to Ignacio and Teodora (Salazar) Montoya. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Dolores married Tomasa Tarin on January 2, 1966 in Redford, TX and they spent 23 years together before being separated by her death in 1989.

Dolores was a hard working man who enjoyed working outside in his garden. He loved being a cowboy and working on a ranch. His friends and family called him “Lolo”.

He is survived by three sons: Hector Montoya and wife Norma of Kermit, TX Rojelio “Rocky” Montoya of Kermit, TX and Rene Montoya of San Angelo, TX; three brothers: Apolonio Montoya of Ft. Stockton, TX; Francisco “Frank” Montoya and wife Julia of Ft. Stockton, TX and Gonzalo Montoya of Lake Arthur, NM; two sisters: Manuela Valenzuela and husband Ramon of Kermit, TX and Ramona Alvarado and husband Efrain of Presidio, TX; six grandchildren: Hector Jr., Sergio, Courtney, Marissa, Marco and Isaac.

He is preceded in death by his wife: Tomasa Montoya and his parents: Ignacio and Teodora Montoya.
A Rosary will be held starting at 7:00 pm, Friday, November 18, 2016 at Family Services Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 19, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kermit, TX, with Father Luis Rene Lopez officiating. John and Cynthia Blakeney
John and Cynthia Blakeney left this earth together Thursday morning, November 17, 2016 as a result of a tragic car accident. John was born to Thomas Blakeney and Wynona (Roberts) Carroll, on May 5, 1976. Cynthia was born to Leon and Shirley (Brimer) Pritchard, on December 27, 1972. John and Cynthia married on June 13, 2004 and spend 12 wonderful years together.
 
John and Cynthia loved animals, especially working with horses. John enjoyed being a mechanic and they both were extremely hard workers. Cynthia loved to read in her free time. They both loved the Lord. John was a kid at heart, and loved to be with his grandchildren. He was a family man, and known to his family as Grandpa John. Cynthia was a generous woman; she loved everyone with a bit of sassiness.

They leave behind their sons: Justin Chesnut and wife Ashley of Midland, TX, Brady Harris of Kermit, TX, and Christopher Blakeney and wife Chelsea of Wink, TX; John's mother: Wynona Carroll and husband Charlie of Wink, TX; Cynthia’s parents: Leon and Shirley Pritchard of Andrews, TX; Cynthia’s Grandmother: Faye Southern of Andrews, TX; John’s brothers: Jackie Eastep and wife Teresa of Wink, TX, Jimmy Eastep and wife Tonya of Wink, TX, and Thomas Blakeney of Garden City, TX; Cynthia's brother: Jessie Pritchard of Kermit, TX; John’s sister: Norma Jean Eastep of Kermit, TX; Cynthia’s Sister: Christina Fowler of Burleson, TX; and six grandchildren: Jaden, Briahna, Aubrey, Layden, Maddalyn, and Bryson. John is preceded in death by his father: Thomas Blakeney.

 Wenceslao Escobedo Aguirre
Wenceslao Aguirre passed away on Monday, November 21, 2016, at age 87. Wenceslao was born Saturday, September 28, 1929, in Ft. Stockton, TX., to Nasario and Santos (Escobedo) Aguirre. Wenceslao married the love of his life Josefina (Berzoza) on February 10, 1951 and they have spent 65 wonderful years together.

Wenceslao known to his friend and family as "W.E" or "Winslow" was a devoted Jehovah's Witness. He loved to read his Bible. Winslow was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers. He loved spicy foods, especially enchiladas. "The hotter the better," he would say. Winslow loved to bake. He was devoted to his wife and treated her like a queen. His life was Jehovah first then his Josefina.
 
He is survived by his wife: Josefina Aguirre of Kermit, TX; two daughters: Amparo Carrasco of Kermit, TX and Estella Paz and husband Fred of Odessa, TX; three sons: Alfredo Aguirre of Kermit, TX, Daniel Aguirre and wife Janet of Kermit, TX and Samuel Aguirre of Midland, TX; two sisters; Ermina Salas and husband Jose of Pecos, TX and Rosario Martinez and husband Ramon of Kermit, TX; eleven grandchildren: Jeremy Carrasco, Joel Carrasco, Daniel Aguirre Jr., Erica Valenzuela, Priscilla Contreras, Eliana Gonzales, Yvonne Hernandez, Veronica Paz, Tiffany Abila, Heather Carrasco and Kristin Aguirre; and twenty five great-grandchildren.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents: Nasario and Santos Aguirre and one brother: Camilo Aguirre.

Memorial services will be at 7 pm, Tuesday November 22, 2016 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Kermit, Texas. The service will be officiated by Ralph Hernandez.  Arrangements are entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor.

Barbara Ann White
Barbara Ann White, age 74, of Wink, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2016. She was born on October 8, 1942 in Midland, TX to Andrew and Clarabelle (Henry) Henderson. Barbara married Lonnie White on March 2, 1962 and they celebrated 54 years together.

Barbara was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Wink, TX. She taught preschoolers at the church and she had a deep love for the Lord. She loved to work with the youth of Wink, and was a caregiver, teacher and a nurse. She loved to travel.

Barbara is survived by husband: Lonnie White of Wink, TX; two sons: Bradley White and wife Judy of Wink, TX and Shannon White of Houston, TX; she was beloved “Mimi” to two grandchildren: Emily Anne White and Peyton Andrew White.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Andrew and Clarabelle Henderson.

Services will be held 10:00 am, Friday, December 2, 2016 at First United Methodist Church in Wink, TX officiated by Rev. Jean Riley. Pallbearers will be James Sharp, Raymond Dodd, Johnny Walker, Gayland Richardson, Sterling Abbott, and Tim Pierce. Honorary Pallbearers will be Verle McDaniel, Tommy Greer, Bert Pope, and Jerry Light. Interment will follow at the Iraan Cemetery, at 3:00 pm in Iraan, TX.

Jason "Slim" Dee Omans
Jason "Slim" Dee Omans, age 34, of Kermit, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2016. He was born on October 14, 1982 in Andrews, TX to Mark Omans and Sonya (Quillin) Omans.

"Slim" as he was known to his friends and family was a hard working man. He was very artistic and had a passion for drawing and tattooing. He was always the center of attention and loved to make other laugh. Jason was very fond of the time he got to spend with his daughters, his nephews, and his friends.

Jason is survived by his mother: Sonya Omans of Kermit; father: Mark Omans of St. Helen, MI; daughters: Brianna Anderson of Big Spring and Caylee Robinson of Kingsville; sister: Savanna Nock of Kermit; nephews: Aaidyn Nettles and Jasper Manes; and many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brothers: Jonathan Omans and Tanner Nock.

Memorial Services will be held 4:00 pm, Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at the Church of God in Kermit, TX officiated by Brother Eddie Whitefield. Frances Nave
Frances Nave

Frances Nave, age 92, of Andrews, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2016 in Andrews, TX. She was born January 29, 1924 in Redford, TX to Alfredo and Luisa (Acosta) Pando. She was a member of the Catholic Church.

Frances, known to her friends and family as “Panchita" or "Grandma Chita,” was an excellent cook. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, and making ceramics. She also loved to listen to music. She was a selfless woman who loved to help others, and became an interpreter for many people in the community.  As the matriarch of her family, she was admired by her siblings.  Frances was dedicated to her grandchildren and loved them unconditionally. 

She is survived by three sons: Alfredo Pando and wife Natalie of Trinidad, CO, Felix Nave and wife Cordie of Odessa, TX, and Jorge Nave of Andrews, TX; one daughter: Mary Gutierrez and husband Armando of Andrews, TX; three brothers: Alonzo Pando of Kermit, TX, Amador Pando of Andrews, TX, and Alfredo Pando Jr. and wife Delia of Kermit, TX; one sister: Connie Dominguez and husband Nico of Hobbs, NM; fifteen grandchildren; forty great-grandchildren; and thirty one great-great- grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Francisco T. Nave; parents: Alfredo and Luisa Pando; two sons: Juan Nave and Frank Nave; two brothers: Abelardo Pando and Albert Pando; and one sister: Yolanda Carrasco.

A Rosary will be held starting at 8:00 pm, Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Family Services Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 pm, Friday, December 9, 2016 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Kermit, TX, with Father Mark Salas officiating. Jesus V. Lara
Jesus V. Lara, age 63, of Kermit, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2016. He was born on February 9, 1953 in Big Spring, TX to Guadalupe and Fransica Lara. Jesus married Irene Escobedo on August 23, 1982 and they celebrated 34 years together.

Jesus or "Don Chuy" as he was known to his friends was a devoted family man. He loved joking with and telling stories to his grandkids. Often, Jesus could be found singing, baking a cake or having a cup of coffee. He had a big love of watching wrestling on TV and watching his flowers grow.

Jesus is survived by his wife: Irene Lara of Kermit; sons: Jesus Lara Jr. and wife Stephane of Kermit, TX and Christopher Lara and wife Mayra of Phoenix, AZ; daughter: Emma Gomez Lara of Big Spring, TX; brother: Ramon Hernandez of Phoenix, AZ; sister: Celia Fernandez of Phoenix, AZ; 10 grandchildren: Manuel, Daniel, Jesus III, Jessica, Anysia, John, Alexia, Anthony, Emmarie and Jesus Anthony.
