A Jones

April Donnell Underwood Jones

08/04/1982 – 06/18/2013

We lost our beloved April on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, as she took her rightful place beside our Heavenly Father.  It is a bittersweet passing as we gained one precious life, while losing another.

April was preceded in death by her grandfather Miguel (Mike) Guadarrama and her Uncle Vernon Lee Underwood. April was survived by her loving husband, John Paul Jones, son, Patton Laurence, daughter, Isabella Laurence and the new arrival, Kaylee Jolene Marie Jones.  She was also survived by her dad and mom, Glenn and Marina Underwood of Wink, brother, Glenn Ray Underwood of Wink, brother, Rudy and wife Eva Underwood of Midland, sister, Mickey Underwood of Wink and nephew William Underwood and niece Elizabeth Underwood of Wink, grandmother Mickey Guadarrama of Rockwell, TX and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins scattered throughout the state of Texas.

April was an extraordinary woman, she was an exemplary wife with an undying love for her husband, she was a mother that would sacrifice it all for her children, she was a sister that loved her siblings more than words can do justice, she was a daughter that respected and adored her parents and she was a dear friend to anyone and everyone she met.  So many things can be said of April but “Amazing” is the word that describes her best.

April will forever be remembered for her beauty, inside and out, and for her infectious smile.  She was known for lighting up any room she entered and for having the ability to de-fuse any situation.  April was the ultimate peacemaker; she was “The Light” in the darkness. April has, without a doubt, received her jeweled crown and is dancing among the angels in Heaven, waiting for the rest of us to arrive.

We would like to express our gratitude for the many people that have called, sent cards, e-mailed, brought food or simply dropped by to give us a hug.  The outpouring of love in the communities of Wink and Kermit is simply breathtaking and will never be forgotten.
