Elizabeth Kay (Thorp) Jones, a valiant warrior in the Lord’s army, went home to see her King late in the evening of December 12, 2011. Liz was a good Christian wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was born on February 10, 1958 in Sweetwater, TX to Bud and Betty Thorp, both of whom she adored and cherished. She grew up and went to school in Pecos, TX. She was a lifetime member of 4th and Bois D’Arc Church of Christ in Pecos, where she met and married the cowboy of her dreams, RC Jones, on June 10, 1975. Liz will be remembered as a Proverbs 31 wife and a mom who loved her children dearly and was dearly loved by them.  She was lovingly known as Mimi to her 4 grandchildren:  Wintana, Ivy, Zane and Lily. Liz was an amazing grandmother who spoiled her grandkids at every available opportunity. She was at her best when she was with these kids, whom she loved dearly. Friends remember many early mornings spent chatting and walking through the neighborhoods of Wink with Liz. Close family members recall Liz’s gift for serving others. She always seemed to be the first to help and the last to leave because she gave of herself so freely. Liz attended Lubbock Christian College. She worked as the district and county clerk in Loving County, TX after many years in banking in Wink and Kermit TX. She also served Wink ISD on the school board for several terms.

Among the saints that have gone before her, Liz  joined her 2 grandsons, Cole Lee and Corbin Carrol Jones in Paradise, where has likely already began the process of spoiling them too. Liz leaves behind her husband and friend RC Jones of Mentone, TX, her 2 sons; Buck Jones and his wife Renee of Jourdanton, TX and Brandon Jones and his wife Holly of Whitesboro, TX as well as one daughter, Shane Siebrandt and her husband Justin of Ketchikan, Alaska.  Liz is also survived by her parents, sister Sandy Delgado and her husband Lincho of Hobbs, NM and 2 brothers, Lane Thorp of Hobbs, NM as well as Smokie Thorp and his wife Lori of Midland, TX.
