Patsy Ann Carman Yates

Patsy Ann Carman Yates, age 78, of San Angelo, TX, passed from this life on Friday, August 26, 2011 in San Angelo.  She was born in Anson, TX on Sunday, August 20, 1933 to Haskell E. and Lottie Mae (Miller) Riley.

She loved cooking, fine dining, working outside, fishing and traveling. She was very thrifty and loved to watch golf. She was family oriented and cherished photos of her grandkids and great-grandkids.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons: Ronnie Carman and wife Susan of Troup, TX; Jay Carman and wife Shelly of North Richland Hills, TX; one daughter: Kay Warren and husband Gary of San Angelo, TX; one brother: Mickey Riley and wife Gloria of Colombia, TN; one sister: Lou Mcillwain and husband Melvin of Seminole, TX; six grandchildren: Alisa Gotte, Jenny Dees, Penny Carman, D’Nae Woodruff, Jacob Carman and Terry Max Warren; six great-grandchildren: Carman Rae, Brodie Kay, Jonah, Nolan, Loren and Kalyn and one cousin: Mary Rogers. 

She was preceded in death by her parents: Haskell and Lottie Riley and her husband Max Carman.

Graveside services will be 10:00 am, Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Kermit Cemetery in Kermit, TX.  Services will be officiated by Pastor Jim Weizenecker.

Arrangements are entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor.

Fred Allen Keen

Fred Allen Keen, age 62, passed from this life on August 31, 2011. He was born on April 5, 1949 in Dumas, TX to “Newt” Keen and “Tootsie” (Bradley) Keen/Rhone.

Freddie, or Fredrico as he was called by his friends, spent many years working in the oilfield as a derrick-man but his true love was being a cowboy.  He had a good reputation around the state as a horse trainer and horse breaker.  As a cowboy he had many skills:  riding, roping, and competing in the rodeo with cutting horses and bull riding.  He also had a love for country music.

He leaves behind his wife: Monique Keen of Kermit; four sons: Tom Keen of Gardendale, Ted Keen of Rocksprings, WY, Ronnie Martin of Greenriver, WY, and Mac Sedino and wife Elizabeth of San Angelo; three daughters:  Tamara Prescott of Denton, Angelique Cevantes and husband Arturo of San Angelo, and Casandra Calderone and husband Rolando of Ft. Campbell, KY;  two brothers:  Stanley Keen and wife Kay of Mertzon and Jack Keen of Kermit;  two sisters:  Emily Ann Keen of Kermit and Billie Sharp and husband James of Kermit; fifteen grandchildren; and two great-grand children; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: “Newt” Keen and “Tootsie” Keen/Rhone; and one son: Todd Keen.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Grace Temple Baptist Church in Kermit, TX with Brother John Curry officiating.  Pallbearers will include: Jim Sharp, Jason Sharp, Philip Brooks, Lance Brooks, Cody Keen, Bob Kelton, Buzz Skelton, and Derris Henrich. Honorary Pallbearers will include: Jack Keen Jr., Randy Keen, James Sharp, Matt Holcomb. Interment will follow at Kermit Cemetery.

Wanda June Elmore Davis

Wanda Davis, age 73, was born September 9, 1938 in Casper Wyoming to Charles Wesley Elmore and Mary Catherine Cunningham Peralta.  She departed this life on September 22, 2011 at St. Paul Medical Center in Dallas after a brief illness, leaving behind a loving family and host of friends.

Wanda married Robert R. “Bake” Davis on January 15, 1955 in Greybull, Wyoming.  She completed her high school diploma by correspondence and began studies in Nursing.  She obtained her L.V.N. and R.N. licensing and worked for Winkler County Memorial Hospital for 12 plus years.  After completing her Bachelors at Texas Tech University and her Masters at University of Texas at El Paso, she taught nursing school for Odessa College for 12 years.  After retiring in 2000, she has enjoyed sewing and spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids.  Wanda was a worldwide traveler and had a special place in her heart for snow skiing.  She was a very active member of Eastside Church of Christ where she was a teacher, church secretary, and was always willing to help with the youth group.

She leaves behind her husband:  Robert R. “Bake” Davis; four children:  Bobby and Jen Davis of Carrolton, TX, Kae Mercer of Lewisville, Kathy and John Graham of Ovalo, TX, and Wesley Davis of Kermit; seven grandchildren:  Amanda Lewis, Colt and Natalie Mercer, Laura and Jarris Davis, Staci Mercer, Ashley Van Zandt, Morgan and Casey Collum and Alexa Graham; four great-grandchildren:  Avery, Cadon, Nate , and Nicole with one on the way and 26 foster grandchildren; step-father: Robert Peralta of Crowheart, WY; brothers:  Roger Stark and wife Beatty of Germany, and Peter Peralta of Crowheart, WY; sisters: Marybelle Gibbs of Phoenix, AZ, Pam Peralta of Parker, CO and Roberta Lewis of CO.  She is also survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.  She loved each one dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Charles Elmore and Mary Peralta and two sisters:  Grace Elmore and Velda Damewood.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm Monday, September 26, 2011 at Eastside Church of Christ in Kermit with Brothers Ted Kell, Joe Carrasco, and Brian McGonagill officiating.  Pallbearers will be John Graham, Bob Davis, Wes Davis, Jarris Davis, Casey Collum and Colt Mercer.

Dorothy Jane Campbell

Dorothy Jane Campbell, age 78, passed away Friday, September 23, 2011 in Odessa, TX. She was born September 24, 1932 in Santa Ana, CA to John L. and Beatrice (Morrison) Gentry.

Dorothy was known as “Dot” to her family. She loved to cook and collect figurines and knick-knacks. She was known for taking care of folks and being very charitable. Her favorite charities that she supported were “Feed the Kids” and “The Humane Society”. She also had a strong love and desire to support our troops.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband: Clarence Campbell; three sons: Clarence Campbell and wife Dianna of Bakersfield, CA, Darrell Campbell of Stoughton, WI and Nathan Campbell of Bakersfield, CA; one daughter: Linda Campbell of Bakersfield, CA; one brother: Bill Gentry and wife Jerrie of Pollack, LA; two sisters: Mary Tolar of Alexandria, LA and Martha Holloway and husband David of Oakdale, LA; seven grandchildren: Kenny, Kevin, Kelly, Joshua, Emily, Alyssa and Amber; and one great-grandchild: Lia.

She was preceded in death by her parents: John and Beatrice Gentry; brother: John L. Gentry and sister: Claudy Gentry.

Services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Family Services Funeral Chapel in Kermit, TX. Pallbearers will be: Darrell Campbell, Curtis Collum, Chuck Collum, Steven Smithhart, Matt Fischer and Ronnie Alexander. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Nathan Campbell, Clarence Campbell, Kenny Campbell, Kevin Campbell and Joshua Campbell. Officiated by Brother Dudley Mullins. Interment will follow at Kermit Cemetery.

Maria Elena Mendoza

Maria Elena Mendoza, age 59, of Wink, TX, passed from this life on Monday, September 26, 2011 in Kermit, TX.  She was born in Los Fresnos, Mexico on May 29, 1952 to Juan and Elisa (Lujan) Tarango.

Maria loved to cook and feed everyone. She loved to travel and go visit people, especially her family and grandkids. In her free time, she would spend hours working crossword puzzles and watching her novellas on TV.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 40 years: Eduardo Mendoza of Wink; four sons:  Heber Mendoza and wife Yadira of Artesia, NM, Eddy Mendoza and wife Sabrina Padilla of Kermit, Doroteo Mendoza of San Antonio, and Danny Mendoza of Wink, two daughters: Hilda Crawford and husband Chris of Wink and Cristal Mendoza of Midland; six brothers: Ernesto Tarango and wife Socorro of Pecos, Israel Tarango and wife Berta of Roswell, NM, Juan Tarango and wife Cesaria of Pecos, Hector Tarango and wife Guadalupe of Andrews, Alfredo Tarango and wife Yolanda of Pecos, and Oscar Tarango and wife Martha of Hobbs, NM; five sisters: Socorro Mendoza and husband Francisco of Seminole, Matiana Pena of El Paso, Arcelia Saenz and husband Tirso of Roswell, NM, Irma Ortega and husband Lupe of Pecos, and Belma Garay and husband Raul of Pasedena, TX; and seven grandchildren: Brianna, Mariza, Joshua, Darean, Eddy Ray, Xavier, Tino and one on the way.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Juan and Elisa Tarango.

Rosary will be said 7:00 pm Friday, September 30, 2011 at Family Services Funeral Chapel.  Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Saturday, October 1, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, officiated by Father Richard Waiwood.  Interment will follow at Kermit Cemetery.  Pallbearers will include: Heber Mendoza, Eddy Mendoza, Doroteo Mendoza, Danny Mendoza, Ernesto Mendoza, Demecio Tarango.  Honorary Pallbearers will include: Chris Crawford, Merced Sanchez, J.J. Lopez, and Michael Berta.  Arrangements are entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor.

Manuel Armendariz Campos

Manuel Armendariz Campos, age 79, passed from this life on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at his home in Kermit.  He was born in Meoqui, Chihuahua, Mexico on February 20, 1932 to Jose Garcia and Secundina Perez (Armendariz) Campos.

Manuel loved spending time with his family and playing pool and dominoes. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his seven sons: Miguel Campos and wife Elvira of Presidio, Samuel Campos and wife Maria of Kermit, Leonel Campos and wife Lorena of Kermit, Jose Campos and wife Maria Elena of Kermit, Guadalupe Campos and wife Eloisa of Presidio, Ruben Campos and wife Elizabeth of Presidio, and Rogelio Campos and wife Sonia of Kermit; one daughter: Amabilia Gomez of Kermit; two brothers: Ramon Campos and wife Soledad and Eutimio Campos, both of Juarez, Mexico; three sisters: Luz Campos of El Mulato, Mexico; Rosa Maria Campos Juarez and husband Victor of Presidio and Mercedes Campos of Parral, Mexico; twenty five grandchildren; thirty two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his wife:  Manuela M. Rodriquez Campos; his parents: Jose Garcia and Secundina Campos; one brother: Jose Camposl; and three sisters: Socorro Campos, Maria Ofelia Campos and Gabriela Campos.

Funeral services are pending in Mexico. Interment will follow at El Mulato Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor of Kermit and Funeraria de Valle in Ojinaga.

Beulah Louise Hill

Beulah Louise Hill, age 79, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2011 in Houston, Texas. She was born Friday, May 27, 1932 in Dalhart, Texas to Louis Gerald and Nellie Louise (Davison) Horne.

Beulah loved to garden and crochet. She was a “Pink Lady”.  Beulah was a longtime member of Belvue Baptist Church and a Sunday school teacher.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are three daughters: Lois Schlehuber and husband Mike of Lafayette, LA; Danita Brooks and husband Tom of Sealy, TX and Valencia Lund and husband Dave of Vashon, WA; three brothers: Leo Horne and wife Elaine of Dalhart, TX; Darrel Horne and wife Martha of Borger, TX and Carl Horne and wife Patty of Allen, TX; six grandchildren: Stephanie, David, Carolyn, Sam, Becky and Daniel and four great-grandchildren: Tyler Ann, Kaitlyn, Robert and David.

She was preceded in death by her husband:  C. Wayne Hill and her parents: Louis and Nellie Horne.

Services will be 10:00 am Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Belvue Baptist Church in Kermit, officiated by Brother Jim Weizenecker. Interment will follow at Kermit Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be:  Mike Schlehuber, Tom Brooks, David Lund, Sam Schlehuber, Daniel Lund and Jeremy McCommas. Honorary Pallbearer will be David Brooks.

Margaret Jane Henson

M. J. Henson, age 68, passed away Friday, October 28, 2011 in Kermit, Texas. She was born Tuesday, March 2, 1943 in Piqua, Ohio to Herbert and Evleyen Justine (Fisher) Bieries.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons: Martin Roy Belcourt Jr. of Kermit and Elger Griffieth of Troy, OH; daughters: Patricia Lee Chambers of Iowa Park, TX and Tammy Lee Griffieth of FL; two brothers: David C. Englehart and Sheldon Firestone; six grandchildren: Porsche; Jetta; Tiffany; Stephanie; Hailey and Brandon; and five great-grandchildren: Xavier; Shelby; Toby; Mason and Maxx.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Joseph E. Henson and her parents.

Services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Family Services Funeral Chapel in Kermit with Brother Steve Long officiating. Pallbearers will be Tommy Armstrong, Jose Gutierrez, Ruben Gutierrez, Willie Whiteside, Noah Gutierrez and David Englehart.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Brandon Belcourt, Roy Franco and Jose Bustamante. Interment will follow at Kermit Cemetery.

Billie Wanice Durham

Billie Wanice Durham, age 68, of Kermit, passed from this life on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Hospice House of Odessa.  Billie was the daughter of the late Samuel Thomas Boner and the late Elsie Odessa Elmore, born in Amarillo, TX on February 6, 1943.  She married Alton Andrew Durham in Kermit on October 3, 1959.  They enjoyed 50 happy years together before separated by his death in 2009.

Mrs. Durham was a homemaker and had previously worked as a CNA at the Kermit Healthcare Center.  She was a member of Grace Temple Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons:  Randy Carl Durham of Vealmoor, TX, Ricky Alton Durham of Trainer, PA and Chad Wayne Durham of Odessa; daughter:  Sheila Castillo of Tulsa, OK; one sister: Phyllis Shropshire of Kermit; and two brothers: Stanley Boner of Kerrville and Roger Boner of Kermit; four grandchildren:  Chandra Durham, Joshua Durham, Ashley Durham, and Christopher Kane; and eight great-grandchildren:  Ellyana Durham, Kaydince Carrillo, Emily Friare, Kevin Resendiz, Olivia Durham, Jack Durham, Jade Greeley, and Christopher Kane, Jr. 

Mrs. Durham is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, one sister; Margaret Sue Allford and three brothers; Earnest, Robert Ray, and Joe Boner.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Grace Temple Baptist Church of Kermit, officiated by Brother John Curry.  Pallbearers will be John Shropshire, Jr., Kody Shropshire, Gene Durham, Patrick Durham, Joel Howard, and Donnie Boner.  Interment will follow at Kermit Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor.

Gabriel Rodriguez

Gabriel Rodriguez, age 59, of Kermit, passed from this life on Friday, November 11, 2011 at Home Hospice House in Odessa.  He was born in Fort Stockton, Texas on March 05, 1952 to Apolonio and Dominga (Vijil) Rodriguez. He married his wife Lupe Porras in Kermit, Texas on October 18, 2011 and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Gabriel was a self employed welder.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife: Lupe Rodriguez of Kermit, TX; son:  Gabriel Rodriguez Jr. and wife Erica of Kermit, TX; daughter: Raquel Rodriguez of Cincinnati, Ohio; two brothers: Angel Rodriguez and wife Eva of Odessa, TX and Apolonio Rodriguez and wife Ester of Odessa, TX; one sister: Nellie Stroh and husband John of Lovington, NM; two grandchildren: Noah Diego Rodriguez and Aaliyah Gabriella Rodriguez.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Rosary will be said 7:00 pm Monday, November 14, 2011 at Family Services Funeral Chapel.  Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, officiated by Father Richard Waiwood. Cathy Camille Dewell

Cathy Camille Dewell, age 61, passed from this life on Saturday, November 5, 2011.  She was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on December 28, 1949 to James and Virginia Wright.  Cam, as she was known to her friends and family, was a very loving person.  She was a devoted mother and grandmother.   Cam was an accomplished cook and the family fondly remembers her meals.

Those left to cherish her memory are two sons: Roger W. Dewell and wife Marcie of May, TX; Zachary Dewell and wife Leia of Wimberley, TX; daughter:  Misty Dewell of Brownwood, TX; seven grandchildren:  Megan, JT, Courtney, Isaiah, Britney, Jake and Maggi.

She was preceded in death by her husband:  Roger H. Dewell; parents:  James and Virginia Wright; son: David Dewell; and sister: Carol Wright.

A graveside memorial service will be held 2 pm, Saturday, November 19 at Kermit Cemetery in Kermit, TX with Dr John Wade officiating.  Honorary Pallbearers will include:  Isaiah Roberts, JT Dewell, Jake Dewell, Jordan Sledge, Luke Williams, and Tyler Dowdy.
